An example of a recolor

Recolors are characters created by changing the colors of an existing character (mainly Weegee). Due to the recolors having a bad reputation of their low-quality, this has caused mass backlash from people who sent complaints to the people who created the recolors (mainly Weegeepedia). This also covers Failgees.

It is advised at all costs to avoid making recolors altogether as they're mainly responsible on causing damage to the Weegee fad's popularity and only make a pure original image of a Weegeefied character, or a vectorized version of a sprite that comes from a retro video game.

Variants

  • Semi-Recolors:

Recolored characters that are given extensive parts to their characteristics.

  • NRMIs/Non-Recolor Mixed Images:

An original image of a character with other original images taken from sources, and is edited and merged at different parts of the image (e.g eyes, glasses etc).

  • SRMIs/Semi-Recolor Mixed Images:

It is the same as the NRMIs, except an original image of a character is edited and merged to only have recolored versions of original images from sources.

Trivia

  • Alongside the Impure Weegee Clones, they mainly inhabit in Weegeepedia.
